Women in Dentistry Symposium is a Celebration of all Women in Dentistry

In 1979, fewer than 2% of working dentists were women. By the year 2000, women represented approximately
40% of the US dental students. In 2009, most US Dental Schools are over 50% women. Similar Statistics hold true
in Canadian dental schools as well.

Women face the same business challenges as men do in their field, but also a few more that are uniquely theirs – the personal challenges of marriage, pregnancy, child rearing, balancing family and work and possible parental caretaking responsibilities, all the while juggling a business life.

All of us involved in planning and presenting WiDS hope you’ll meet women you can call for future advice,
